How the World Bibles site can help you find translations of the Bible and the New Testament in thousands of languages.
It's hard to find Bible translations in many of the world's 7000 languages. The Scriptures have already been translated into about 2,600 languages, and the Bible story is available in oral form in many more languages, thanks to the work of Global Recordings.
The WorldBibles site provides links to help people find translations of the Bible in over 4000 languages. We believe that this is the largest collection of Bible links anywhere on the Internet. We list over 14,000 internet links where you can find the Bible or the New Testament in thousands of languages, and in many formats.
These include audio, video, text, print, and mobile phone (cell phone) formats. Many of our links offer free downloads. And you can also listen on-line, or print out whole Gospels, whole New Testaments or just a few Bible verses. Many of the links allow you to watch the Jesus Film on-line.
There has been a huge increase in the last 250 years in providing Bibles for the World. But the difficulty is where to find a foreign language Bible. The WorldBibles site tries to answer that question. It is an on-line Scripture finder.
Who is the WorldBibles site for?
The people we are reaching are
- "Diaspora" peoples who have moved away from their home countries, and are searching for a Bible in their mother tongue.
- We also want to help evangelists to bring the Bible or New Testament to people they meet.
- And of course we want to help Christians reach out to non-English speakers in their communities.
Can you help us?
- Please add a Link to World Bibles on your own web site Do you think other people would like to know where to find Bibles in other languages? The best thing you can do is to add a link from your site to the worldbibles.org site. Please click here, and we will tell you how to do it.
- Translate We have tried to make the site easy to use by providing a user interface in many user languages. These include Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian. If you would like to translate the site interface into another language that you know, please contact us. We just need about 60 phrases translated. It will take you about one hour.
- Tell us more! We are also interested in knowing about Bibles on-line that are not on our list. If you know of web Internet stores where you can buy a Bible, or sites where you can download Acrobat or pdf files, please do let us know.
